Screen printing, also known as silk screen printing, is a method in which ink is pushed through silk mesh using a squeegee and printed onto garments such as t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, and even some items like street signs. Screen printing starts off with artwork; the art is separated on computer software and printed into transparency films using only black printer ink. Once the films are printed and prepared they are aligned onto screens and burned using ultraviolet light. The screen is made up of a frame, usually made of aluminum, with a silk mesh stretching tightly across the frame. A thin layer of photo emulsion is applied to the screens which harden once exposed to ultraviolet light – this process is also known as exposing. The screens are then rinsed out, dried, and set up onto the press. The print-master then registers the screens on the press, adds ink to the screens, and prints away. ​ Embroidery is the service of decorating fabric, mainly apparel and caps, with thread and yarn. With this technique, you are able to display your logo in a very professional manner as well as get your logo onto rounded surfaces, such as hats. ​ The logo starts off being digitized on computer software, or in simpler terms, it gets converted into stitches so the embroidery machine knows where to lay each stitch. The file is then loaded into the machine and the garments are inserted into a loop. The loop holds the garment or cap down while the machine threads the yarn through the fabric. ​ The cost of embroidery varies per job and is priced differently than screen printing because the price is based on stitch count. The more stitches in the design the longer it will stay on the press and therefore the price increases.
